me, cooking mac n' cheese in the luksic basement

Pete takes to the kitchen in this latest article.

As time progresses and I grow older, I've realized that I'm gonna need to do some cooking. Cooking isn't the hardest thing in the world and with today's modern technology as well as inventors catering to our every lazy need, there are some machines that are helping to make our cooking capabilities easier than we could have thought.

In my arsenal there is a grilled cheese maker. This grilled cheese maker doesn't really make a great grilled cheese, but if you could imagine a cheese and butter hot pocket, then you'd have what my sandwich maker makes. These delicacies aren't too bad really. As a matter of fact I've eaten three of them since obtaining the piece in August. Not to mention Alexa and Kyle also partook in Grilled Cheese Pockets and the reactions were quite well, and I don't think they were faking it.

In other cooking news, macaroni and cheese rules. Perhaps one of the easiest things to cook, mac n' cheese is always a reliable choice for poor eating. Frequently I have the pleasure of cooking this thrifty marvel for the lovely Karen Petrosky (yes Allison--it counts as cooking!). We've run out of the sweet and delicious Shop Rite brand of mac n' cheese, and now we've taken on the ritzy stuff from Kraft. What makes mac n' cheese so fun for Pete & Karen is my way-cool pot. With this pot there is no strainer needed because there's one built into the lid of the pot. You can also look through the glass top of the bowl to check on your cooking food, if you use the lid that much at all.

At this point, I realized I haven't aid anything funny yet...

Also being cooked up in the Luksic Hall basement is the popular street drug, crack. Crack is hard to come by in many suburbs, but in Wilkes-Barre, PA, a simple walk down the street could leave you in the middle of any number of drug deals. Lucky for Kyle, we have chocolate syrup leftover from the summer sessions in the basement fridge, because Kyle likes his crack with a dash of chocolate. Drugs are bad.

While it's true that the Luksic Hall basement isn't the best place to cook, and I don't have an oven to bake with, I think that we're doing okay so far. There are still more things in my drawer of food that will be cooked too. For one, we have minute rice which will surely be exciting--I have burned rice in my life already, let's see if we can do it again. Also, Pasta Anytime will find its way to Kyle's stomach sometime in the future. And it's thoroughly imperative that you not forget the importance of canned pasta. Spaghetti-O's with meatballs may be a saving grace for those without the need or financial stability to cook up real spaghetti and meatballs for themselves.

Me cooking is as much of a treat as seeing me do anything. Though I haven't officially gotten hurt while cooking (since I've been at school), I assure you that it's inevitable. Also, seeing me hurry around to make sure the butter, cheese powder, and milk all get in at the same time is fun for all, so ask me to cook for you next time you stop by. 'Til then, I see you in the kitchen.
