Well this is a week premature, but I feel that I have to update the website and I have nothing else to write about. I hope you can enjoy this a little bit, I know it's two weeks short of the end of my summer and one week short of the end of my summer internship, but we'll try and see past that inconsistency:

Internship @ Wilkes-Barre Chamber of Business and Industry (Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday)
This was a fine and dandy job. I'm glad I worked here because I got enough things accomplished to say that I did something with myself for the summer. I made four and a half websites (
www.nepaoutlook.com, www.diamondcitypartnership.com, www.susquehannariverlanding.com, www.wilkes-barre.org/diversity, the half one isn't done or up just yet). I got to go there with some web page experience under my belt, but I lacked an understanding of HyperText Markup Language, the web page language. Without any editors I had to make one site from scratch in Window's Notepad. After I made it through that I graduated directly to Dreamweaver--the top of the line web page editor. It was all good there, except sometimes I was just plain tired and I needed to sleep instead of work. I also got to walk 10 minutes to work, which would be a total of 40 minutes of walking when I would come to campus for lunch. It gave the the great opportunity to meet Karen every Thursday for the Farmer's Market.
for those of you who didn't get the sam & ralph gag, this is them

Media Services Job (Monday & Friday)
This was as calming as always. You should be grateful for this job because it's where I updated this page the most. Sam Falbo was always good company, especially when I revealed to him my secret desire for him to say "Good morning Ralph" every time I said "Good morning Sam." (old Wile E. Coyote gag) Some days found both Sam and Andy being out at the same time, which left lowly student aide, Pete Phillips, in charge of all media services on campus. That was ugly. For the most part though, Media Services was helpful and gave me money, which is always good to have.

Summer RA Job (24 hours a day)
1. Thank God this is over
2. It wasn't that bad.
One thing I hated about this job was the little runts lying through their teeth to me all the time. I didn't mind so much that the were breaking rules while I slept (because I did have work and all), but when they lied about it I hated it. Yes, hiding the truth counts. Also, there was some crazy people in this bunch--I won't point any fingers or say any names, but just for the record, I was a background cast member in Luksic Hall's very own pseudo-Lifetime Original Movie. If you listen to that song and you "always look on the bright side of life" then I can always be happy that I met a number of great people. Leanne, for one, was a joy at various meals and in between to visit; Molly had the softest bed and laughed at everything; Alisha was proud of her ethnicity and
called me a bad RA all the time; did I tell you about that hot stud Pete Phillips?; and many more people. It was a unique experience, to say the least.

Postmodern British Literature (Tuesday, Thursday, 6:00-9:00)
This was a pretty good class. I got an A, so there's no sense in complaining. One secret I have about this class, that I share with classmate Allison Ottino, is our incessant reference to Dr. Bukeavich as "Bukey," thanks to Leanne. Sometimes I'd want to leave class and I only missed one because I was sick, but it was good for the most part. There were a few brainy kids that used big words to look smarter, like paradigm, but screw them. For a reading class, I was markedly impressed with the amount of my interest it kept.

Well that's all for now. Summer was good. Not only did I do all the above stuff, but I saved lotsa money, and, in general, everything from the past two years ended up working out for me--everything did actually "Come up Pete."
