Last
Saturday I got to spend a good portion of the functional day
with Miss Karen Petrosky. During our time together we made a
trip to the pet store and picked up two fish to help make my
room a little more exciting for the time being. One would
think that my presence would be enough to excite the pants off
of anybody, but one would be wrong, unless I count--I'm the
only person that I know of who has had their pants of in my
room. Well things went well starting off. The two fish seemed
to be a tough fit, but they got along for the most part. At
around 11:30 PM on Tuesday, my fish (the silver one) took a
turn for the worse.
At
the pet store, (Half-Dead) Pets-n-You on Kidder Street
in Wilkes-Barre, Karen made the partial selection of
the speckled goldfish seen above, and I made the sole
choice of the Redeye Tetra. While they went for a long
time without names, my fish got one right in time, the
two seemed to get along swimingly (HA!). Still, at that
eleventh hour on the 27th day of May, Henderson took
a dive. His health seemed to fail him and his fins shook
no more. Panic-stricken I turned to assistance from
anyone I could find. Kyle Mazza was a comfort with his
assurance that the incident was neither mine nor Henderson's
fault. He was given the name by Alexa, when I called
her to see what to do about the whole situation. And
Bracken came off of a long hiatus to confirm that Henderson
most likely kicked the bucket completely.
Well
Pete, aren't you afraid this is some sort of sign about a
relationship with you and Karen? Yes--thanks for reminding
me--ass.
Henderson
was a good fishy. Who knows how long he may have lived in the
pets store before he came to a loving home to pass away? I'm
just glad that I got to take care of him for a small time.
I'll miss Henderson. Karen's fish is very aggressive and adventurous,
but Henderson was a passive and easy-going kind of fish. He
never wanted to cause waves or rock the boat and that's why he
was so well-liked. Karen's fishy looks lonely, despite the few
fall outs they had among themselves. You will be missed by all
who knew you Henderson--Godspeed sweet fishy.
