On
the Move Again

here's a quick shot of
the new place/
it's HUGE! |
On Wednesday afternoon, at about 4:30 PM,
I decided that I'd had enough of Luksic Hall and I packed up and
left. I didn't look back.
And now the lies are done. What happened was I finally
got the nod for moving out of ol' Luksic. As part of my Summer RA
gig, I got to move to a new dorm! I was pretty excited about the
move because the place is awesome. It's the girl's dorm during the
regular school year, and they haven't urinated all over it. It's
amazing what 80% less body fluids on the floor can do.
Now, the move, that took a lot more effort than
you're thinking already. I moved for five and a half hours, alone.
I have friends around here, so don't feel sorry for me, but I feel
weird asking my frineds to do things for me if I can't give them
something in return, and the money situation has been horrible.
I'm pretty much all out.
All in all, it was a relief to move because I had
been living out of boxes since I made it back from home last week.
It was surely one of the toughest things I've undertaken in a while.
Recently the arches of my feet have been acting up and the hours
and hours of moving only hurt more. The knee wasn't much of a help
either, so I have up moving. I had all the essentials in, even though
I still have some stuff in the car that I was just too pooped to
carry. I've been coping well without all of it. It's just clothes
and convenient TV trays.
I did manage to make the move though (mostly) and
it was kind of successful. I got to move in to Leanne Poluka's room.
Leanne was a Summer RA with me last year and she's a good kid. She
left a fouton behind and I'm not sure if she intendeds to take it
away, but if not, it's okay. I'm very pleased with the move and
I just wanted to let you know that I've finally found the resort
of King's College. The women of King's are very lucky to be living
in the hall, and I envy all of them.
Now I know Alli and Clare used to complain about
the gitty girls that giggle around the hallway. I think I could
handle that, even though I'm aware that this is not an option. I
guess I'll just pay the price in Luksic for a little longer before
I graduate and get a job and stuff. That's a long way in the future
though, so we'll cross that bridge then. All I know is that I've
already contracted Gregory "Golly Gee" Kirschner to help
me move back. He's a good kid too. There will be more information
on this amazing dorm in the near future, I promise.
