I had to wake up for science... immediate points against.

The Spring '03 semester now comes to an end. Am I sad to see it go? Of course, as sad as I am to see every semester pass. As one more semester comes to a close, you get to read another semester recap from me. There's a lot of dancing in this one because I never like to say bad things when I know people are doing their best, but I'll try and be gentle.

Natural Science- MWF 8:00 AM- Mr. Rakowski:
Ouch. I'll give anyone the benefit of the doubt, but I simply can't with this class. Problems: 1. it's at 8:00 AM-- sleepy time. 2. it's science-- I can't stand science. I've had mediocre experiences in high school science that left me indifferent to this class, but after the first day, I knew I'd hate it again. 3. The robotic and monotone Mr. Rakowski didn't help at all.
There's good in all things though kids, for example Katie Gross and I got to mutter about people who came in late and wore sweater-vests--ok, one kid who did both-- and Stacy Preambo was always entertaining. Miss Gross made note-taking difficult by always engaging in conversation, but for the most part, I'd grade science low.

Catholic Perspectives- MWF 9:00 AM- Dr. Aimee Light:
This is Dr. Light's class, in case I've ever talked about it before. Dr. Light made one dramatic flaw at the beginning of the semester and continued making it everyday until just last week: she assumed the class cared about theology. What made Dr. Shuman so cool last semester was his ability to relate to everyone through theology. God bless Dr. Light for effort though, she was trying her hardest, and her dominant feminist views won over several female class members, but the class was just average for me. You get good and you get bad in school, this one just fell in the middle.
Alas, good did shine through again in having class with Joe Baldasare. Though he sat across the room due to alphabetical seating (another bad move), our single-lined exchanges in passing after class were worth the wait. Also, Mr. Kyle Maza was in class and always very hospitable. Finally, every time I have a class with Bobbi Leib I fear that it will be my last with her-- this one may be though. She was good company through the inane pre-class banter that went on behind me and the constant questioning from a person who shall remain nameless-a-cookie (you'll get that if you know him).

Critical Writing for the Mass Media- MWF 10:00 PM- Mrs. Melissa Becker-Sgroi:
This was a good class. Hold the kids showing up late throughout the class, Mrs. Sgroi skipping out on dinner with us when it was assigned we all meet at the Japanese place, and constant reminders that I have no direction in life, the class was great. I wrote reviews and stuff-- I guess it's a good sign I don't have much to say, that means it wasn't bad.

The McGowan School of Business, home of all of my classes. Not much traveling for me!

Graphics for Mass Communications- TTh 12:30 PM- Mrs. Ann Joyce:
Ahh, ya gotta love the over-achievers, and my two faves were in this class. It was always fun to sit back and laugh at the witty comments from Carlo. Mrs. Joyce is the sweetest and nicest lady over in the Comm Department and I'd take her again anytime. For the final project my group managed to be the exemplification of caring just enough to succeed, but not kiss ass. We slept well with our pride in tact and will battle on with more fun classes in the future. New people include Denise Penrose and Michelle Price. Graphics is fun, some call it tracing class, but I call it gold.

Multimedia in the Workplace 2000- W 6:00 PM- Mr. Bill Keating:
Bill's class rules. We learned all sorts of fun stuff in this class. I enjoyed every minute, even if it seemed to run a little long sometimes. Bill made lots of cheesy jokes that were funny, and he taught stuff! I got to hang out with Gregory K. Kirschner's brother's girlfriend, Miss Heather O'Neill, for this period, as well as Miss Allison Ottino. This was a good small group of people that made for a solid, excellent class. Let's be honest too-- a class with no final is always good. I learned lots of stuff in iMovie, SoundEdit 16, and Macromedia Director 8. Thanks Bill, it was fun!

Overall, this was a good semester for classes. I've enjoyed almost every minute of fun and hope next semester will only be better. Thanks to all who made this semester great, and even those who contributed to its downfalls, like an unnamed guy (who is apparently protected by copyright laws) who once gave me a laugh that lasts to this day with the quote, "Your childish! Nobody likes you!" Thank you too sir.
