They're no Reeses Sticks,
but they'll do |
When Thursday came, I woke up to meet the carpet
guy who was coming at 9:00 AM. At 11:00 he showed up and cleaned the
carpets. In between I watched TV and scoped out Making the Band 3
for the first time ever. It was troublingly fun. When the carpet guy
came, I decided to code out my Flash project for class. That kept
me busy, but I realized that most of the music I was listening to
could've been offensive, so I had to cut back there. Anyway, I did
figure out most of the logistics. If you wanna see a rough version
of the final product, check out http://studentwebs.kings.edu/pphilli2.
When all was said and done for the carpet man, he
left. The cesspool man came and cleaned up shop later. That pretty
much sums up day two (Thursday). When Good Friday came we there
was even more fun to be had. Fasting and all was fun, and at 12:30
we went to mass, where I read a reading and read part of the Passion.
I was the Voice-- this way I could really play Peter. It's funny
to go home for a religious holiday because you see the same people
over and over again. Normally I never see these people, even for
regular breaks, but now I see them three days in a row! Craziness.
Friday was over. We ate dinner and stuff. Nothing big that I remember.
When Saturday came I thought I was in the clear.
Today was going to be the day off. Of course I forgot that this
was the Easter Vigil day, and we were going to that. For the beginning
of the day, I did have the day off. I sat around watching bad SciFi
Channel and stuff. Then it was time to get ready for a new event:
The Easter Vigil. As I prepared for that I had to look up tying
a tie on the internet again. I mastered the Windsor, but I prefer
the Pratt knot. That presented some issues because it took some
time to get right. I got it in the car on the way there. The vigil
was frightening as usual-- big fire, lots of small fires on candles,
tons of people, small space, etc.
After that, we got home at about 10:00 PM. I had
to waste an hour before I could rewind my already-recording premiere
of Bruce Campbell's Alien Apocalypse. It was worth the wait too.
I loved it, and truly enjoyed the Biblical parallelism that emerged
in post-film reading. Oh yeah-- on Friday I watched New Nightmare.
That was somethin'. And then Sunday came. After we bought some flowers
and visited the dead relatives, we had Easter Dinner, which had
an astonishing amount of similarities with Thanksgiving Dinner.
After dinner I finished off my Bunny Cake and went
to bed with a little dash of Crossing Jordan. This is unusual
as I'm normally a syndicated fan, but once in a while I have the
discipline to catch a new one. Lucky for me-- this one featured
guest star Charlie O'Connell alongside Jerry. And after all of that
I woke up and drove home-- in the rain! And that concludes our Easter
trip down Break Lane. I'm sure I missed a few things here and there,
but that was about it.
As for candy, I don't know what I'll get just yet.
Mom have me a chocolate basket with some traditional Easter goodies
in it, but Karen comes over tomorrow with the store-bought goods.
I'm expecting some Reeses Peanut Butter Cup Eggs. I like them chilled.
The most important thing about Easter Candy that I learned this
year is that the new Reeses Pieces eggs--which are bigger versions
of the little candy-shelled things that cost twice as much as any
other candy and come in smaller quantities--cannot be handled. I
may be getting a little personal here, but we're pretty good friends
BJ. I couldn't contain myself with those things. I didn't portion
my consumption well. I ate the big ones in the quantities I would
expect the small ones to satisfy me. Needless to say, I was getting
packed with Peanut Butter goodness. This was good, for like ten
minutes. As they reached my stomach they seemed to turn immediately
to an undesirable grumbling. I really had to pace out those last
eggs.
Anyway BJ, that's it. I was going for quite a while
back there and I should probably bust this up to two parts for reading
pleasure. That's really all though. Hope your Easter was very entertaining
and as eventful as mine. I bet yours was colder. Send my best to
crabs or Reggie Miller, depending on where you are when you read
this.
Sincerely

Did you read Part
One?
